Challenge

Quincy, MA didn’t have a digital system for residents to schedule and for staff to manage residential technical inspections. When I joined, there were only a few early wireframes from the PM, and the interface still had major UX gaps—especially around complex scheduling scenarios—so the challenge was to design a modern, intuitive web app that could handle real-world inspection workflows with less friction for both residents and assessors.

Approach

I translated the initial wireframes into clear user flows and low-fidelity screens, then iterated quickly through UI exploration while validating decisions in daily check-ins. I designed a manager home as a central hub with task shortcuts (defined with the project owner’s input), built scheduling with both calendar and list views to balance overview and detail, and created a responsive component set with variants—including a light mode using Figma variables—to keep the system scalable and consistent across screens.

Company

I designed this project in 2022 as the sole UI designer on the team, partnering closely with the PM to turn early wireframes into a polished, production-ready interface. The version shown here was revisited and rebuilt by me in 2025 for my portfolio, refining the visual system, responsiveness, and overall clarity while staying true to the original goals and constraints.
